You can say it’s in our DNA. So, a quarter a century ago, unlike big pharma and the marketing machines of Madison Avenue, we weren’t looking for a competitive advantage or to champion the next quick fix in the trending pain relief category. Why? Because we were in the cosmetic skin cream category; the “beauty” business.
The unintentional significance of pain over beauty.
You see, we started by manufacturing and selling a high-quality, rich, moisturizing cream at our single store, family-owned pharmacy, Campton Discount Drugs. But our customers didn’t want beauty, they wanted pain relief. How did we know? We asked them. For thirty days we inquired with every customer coming into the pharmacy to pick up their prescriptions: What products do you want us to carry? Emphatically, they yearned for something to alleviate their everyday aches and pains.

A new recipe for pain relief.
We didn’t intentionally invent our product, our customers demanded it. And together, we made a first pass “recipe.” After much research, careful quality-only ingredient selection and many formulation iterations, we began our small batch process. Using what we already had, a premium quality, silky and lightweight moisturizing cream as a base, we infused this with painstakingly pure active and inactive ingredients, imparting penetrating pain-relieving properties and quick absorption through soft emollients, leaving a cleansing, calming glow and locked in comforting feel. We handed out samples looking like generic jars with no writing on them – it worked wonderfully for the folks of Campton. After all, it was their idea and our “recipe.”

The result:
We had created the nation’s premier and only medicinal, moisture-binding pain cream, debuting the feeling of a moisturizing skin cream and the benefits of an effective pain-alleviating medication, bonded together for the first time to create a new formula of care – a beautifully soothing, soft and bright, moisturizing medicine as a premium original, health-giving therapy for everyday pain, we named Australian Dream.
